My hubby leaves for work at about 5:30am every morning. And he does it happily too! Yea nope. I can not wrap my head around how he does it. That is just WAY to early for me. (Can you tell I am not a morning person.) This is why I "try" to prep his meals normally on Sunday. That way he is set for the whole week with breakfast and lunches.
Food prep is a great way to save money so you're not spending it on restaurants or gas station food. Those 5 dollars here and there really add up. Plus, preparing your own food is much more nutritious.
Then there are the other days where I remember, right before my head hits the pillow...that I forgot.
Thank you to whoever came up with overnight oatmeal. I wish I could take credit for this genius creation but it wasn't me. This stuff comes in so handy, and you probably already have everything in your pantry to make it.
All you need is...
1/2 cup oatmeal 1 tablespoon of coconut sugar or your favorite local honey
Toasted Coconut chips 1 teaspoon
Raspberries 2 teaspoons
Walnuts to taste
1 cup of milk (I prefer raw) or coconut milk
1 mason jar with lid
Add oatmeal, coconut sugar, berries and nuts. Fill up the mason jar with milk till it's covering the oats by at least 1 inch. Put it in the fridge and let it sit overnight. You can eat this cold or warm. Either way it's a very easy thing to grab in a morning rush.
You can also alter this recipe to whatever you like. Use any kind of fruit, berries or seeds. My other favorite flavor combo is banana and blueberry! YUM!So be creative and enjoy!
Don't forget to tell me what you think?
